Fulham’s Lillie Road is a melting pot for antique dealers and independent art galleries and has been a source of inspiration, and buried treasure, for interior designers for decades.
Though not one of the oldest, Dorian Caffot de Fawes is certainly one of the road’s most prolific dealers and one MBDS have called upon since it opened its doors in 2008.
Born in Paris, Dorian Caffot de Fawes grew up in the Pays Basque before moving to London in 2008. His shop specialises in the 20th Century, particularly the period between 1920 and 1970. His stock is rigorously selected and includes lighting, furniture, objet and art work for both private collectors and trade. However, Dorian Caffot de Fawes stands out from the antique dealer crowd through the way in which his items are curated and styled. Each main display exudes all the qualities Instagrammers love; seductive lighting, verdant foliage, bold designs and artwork to swoon over. So if you’re after a Cubist painting, a Josef Frank floor lamp or an Art Deco chest of drawers, it seems the Lillie Road is your next shopping stop.
