Located in a beautiful Edwardian Belle Époque building, Scarfes Bar draws on the neighbourhood’s strong sense of history.
Martin Brudnizki Design Studio was asked by Rosewood Hotels & Resorts to design the bar located inside the London edition of their luxury hotel group. Transforming the space into a warm and vibrant bar, the Studio took inspiration from the atmosphere of a drawing room and the sophistication of a gentleman’s club. Optimising the heritage of the baroque building style and French motifs, original architectural features were preserved.

The cosy 77-seat bar, surrounded by shelves filled with over 1,000 hand-picked antique books, is furnished with vintage and custom designed pieces such as velvet armchairs and oversized bar stools. Other furniture highlights include Edwardian inspired stool chairs, an 1870 lollipop rocking chair sourced in New York and a collection of 1950s’ antique cocktail chairs, all united in rich jewel tones.
