  • We are looking for a talented Senior Interior Designer with 6-10 years of experience to join our London studio in the Residential Team. The Senior Designers are members of the Design Studio Team (DST) alongside the Associates, Mid-weight Designers, Junior Designers, 3D visualisers and librarian.

    Developing the design concept as well as the design details, this person will manage the day-to-day delivery of their projects. The Senior Designer will be assisted by the Mid-weight Designers and Junior Designers and will be working closely with the Associates regarding the management of the design concept development and design information production. The Senior Designer will report to the Design Director, Creative Director and Associates (Design Management Team).

    The Senior Designer will be very experienced with all aspects of design and design project management, from large scale hotels and residential developments to high end restaurants. Since the position includes communication with client representatives and other project team consultants, a high level of verbal and written communication skills are a must. An engaging, diplomatic manner, clean and tidy appearance is expected.

    The responsibilities will include:

    • Developing the creative vision for the Studio’s projects alongside the Design Management Team.

    • Lead design research for projects in general and concept development in particular. The task includes activities ranging from finding mood images for a particular design direction to establishing information about the specific site

    • Leading the establishment of the materiality for the Studio’s projects. Develop the details of the design through material research and to ensure samples are available for review.

    • Researching and engaging new suppliers and manufacturers, keeping the team updated with any new materials, lighting, ironmongery and sanitary ware products.

    • Understanding MBDS’s Stylistic Design Standards to ensure they are adhered to during design concept and design development, as well as overall FF&E project costs.

    • Developing the projects from concept through to completion, including all standard Studio phases by using your in-depth knowledge of design timelines and deliverables.

    Experience:

    6-10 years of experience in either hospitality or residential design and be very experienced with running jobs; either large scale residential, hotels or restaurants.

  • We are looking for an ambitious and talented Procurement Coordinator with a minimum of four years’ experience to work on high end Residential and Commercial Interior Design projects.

    The Procurement Coordinator will be responsible for executing projects and taking ownership of its life circle in line with the procurement programme. The successful candidate will be planning, purchasing, and installing highly detailed FF&E, either bespoke pieces, off the shelf or antiques, handling suppliers, documentation, spread sheets, invoicing, procuring and reconciliation of projects.

    For this role, candidates should clearly show competent knowledge of the job and be extremely organised and efficient as well as have a natural passion for great design and high attention to detail. A solid knowledge of furniture and architectural materials and where to source them from is essential.

    The responsibilities will include:

    • Reviewing designers’ specifications and coded plans to ensure all FF&E is ordered as per the design intend.

    • Prepare tender packages and issue formal tender invitations to vendors.

    • Obtaining supplier quotations (for both standard and bespoke items, negotiating on price & terms) and working with the design team throughout the tender and quoting stages to find suitable suppliers and achieve the best possible prices.

    • Placing orders and liaising with each supplier to ensure every order is delivered on time and to the correct specification.

    • Ensuring all procurement remains within budget and to the strict project timeline.

    • Inform Procurement Manager and design team about any long lead items or if FF&E is no longer available.

    • Prepare cost comparison of returned tenders.

    • Assist Procurement Manager with client’s funding request.

    • Locating the most suitable logistic partner for each project.

    • Inspecting goods upon delivery alongside the FF&E designers as well as liaising with warehouses to ensure the correct condition checks are made.

    • Liaising with contractors and the client team to organise the installation of FF&E, resolve any outstanding snagging or delivery issues with suppliers.

    • Keeping track and approving supplier invoices for payment as well as assisting the accounts team to complete the final project reconciliation.

    • Report weekly project updates to the team senior and the client.

    • Excellent working knowledge of the FF&E procurement process within residential and hospitality industry.

    • Organise and attend client and design meetings as and when required.

  • We are looking for a looking for a Junior Designer with 0-2 years’ experience to join the high-end interior design firm, specialising in both hospitality and residential projects.

    The candidate needs to be driven, ambitious, talented and able to apply themselves to the challenges and tasks of working in a demanding, but rewarding interior design practice.

    They will be working on a range of innovative projects, supporting the team’s designers in a variety of roles, while learning and developing their skills. The candidate will need to take ownership and responsibility of their own workload, using their initiative and creative skills to solve problems and meet deadlines.

    The candidate must be proficient in AutoCAD, Photoshop, 3D StudioMax, Sketch-Up and have strong free-hand sketching abilities. Good, confident communication skills will be required, as the candidate will be expected to discuss and present their ideas to the design team and liaise with contractors, consultants and clients.
