MBDS is seeking a talented Junior Interior Designer to join our Design Studio Team (DST). This role supports the DST by assisting Mid-weight Designers on high-end hospitality and/or residential projects.
You will be fully involved in the design process, responsible for your workload, and report to the Mid-weight Designers. Strong verbal and written communication is essential for internal and external project team interaction.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Concept: Assist with design research, image sourcing, Photoshop editing, and presentation preparation. Assist with site visits.
Sourcing: Research and source lighting, new materials/finishes. Manage technical documentation and material samples.
Documentation: Assist with producing AutoCAD drawings (master plans, architectural, and joinery details) and scheduling. Help maintain project filing and compile meeting minutes.
Studio Support: Coordinate studio support tasks (e.g., travel, stationery) and provide coverage for other Junior Designers.
Experience & Knowledge
Experience: Graduate Designer with 0-3 years of experience.
Knowledge: Basic knowledge of CAD standards, 3D spatial awareness, eye for colour/materials, and awareness of current industry trends.
Technical Skills
Software: AutoCAD, Photoshop, Sketch-up, 3D Studio Max, Enscape, InDesign, and Microsoft Office.
Skills: Free-hand sketching abilities.
