MBDS are looking for an ambitious and talented Procurement Coordinator with a minimum of three years experience to work on high-end Residential and Commercial Interior Design projects. This position is based in our London studio, with 2 days available to work from home per week.
The Procurement Coordinator will be responsible for executing projects and taking ownership of their life-cycle in line with the procurement programme. The successful candidate will be planning, purchasing, and installing highly detailed FF&E, either bespoke pieces, off the shelf or antiques, handling suppliers, documentation, spreadsheets, invoicing, procuring and reconciling projects.
The ideal candidate should be extremely organised and efficient, possess a natural passion for excellent design, and demonstrate high attention to detail. A solid knowledge of furniture and architectural materials, as well as sourcing options, is essential.
Responsibilities:• Reviewing designers’ specifications and coded plans to ensure all FF&E is ordered in accordance with the design intent
• Preparing tender packages and issuing formal tender invitations to vendors
• Obtaining supplier quotations (for both standard and bespoke items, negotiating on price and terms) and collaborating with the design team throughout the tender and quoting stages to find suitable suppliers and achieve the best possible prices
• Placing orders and liaising with each supplier to ensure every order is delivered on time and to the correct specifications
• Ensuring all procurement remains within budget and adheres to the strict project timeline
• Informing the Procurement Manager and design team about any long lead items or if FF&E is no longer available
• Preparing cost comparisons of returned tenders
• Assisting the Procurement Manager with clients' funding requests
• Locating the most suitable logistics partner for each project
• Inspecting goods upon delivery alongside the FF&E designers and liaising with warehouses to ensure the correct condition checks are made
• Liaising with contractors and the client team to organise the installation of FF&E, resolving any outstanding snagging or delivery issues with suppliers
• Keeping track of and approving supplier invoices for payment, as well as assisting the accounts team to complete the final project reconciliation
• Reporting weekly project updates to the senior team and the client
• Organising and attending client and design meetings as required

MBDS are looking for a friendly and professional Receptionist to join our London studio. This person will be the first point of contact for our clients and visitors at our London studio. Your role will be pivotal in providing a welcoming atmosphere and ensuring smooth communication within our team and with external parties.
As the Receptionist, you will manage the front desk, greet guests, handle incoming calls and inquiries, and coordinate administrative tasks to support the daily operations of our studio. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, have a positive attitude, and demonstrate the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
This is an office based role, based in the studio 5-days a week.
REPONSIBILITIES:
Managing Reception (day to day) between the hours of 8:45am - 5:30pm (office based role):
o Opening/closing the studio
o Listening to voicemail messages and relaying them to the intended recipient
o Acting as first point of contact for all calls; screening and directing messages
o Providing Studio information to callers
o Greeting visitors – standing up to greet them ‘welcome to MBDS’ take coats/bags
o Offering refreshments – tea, coffee, water
o Being aware of daily staff movement in/out of the Studio (calendar) and managing the WFH calendar.
o Ensuring the reception area is kept tidy – all personal items put away in draws
o Booking all cars for business-related travel for staff as and when required
Meeting Room
o Managing meeting room bookings
o Ensuring the meeting rooms are always kept clean and tidy
o Checking the calendar daily to ensure there are no overlaps in meetings
o Preparing for visitors (equipment needed, refreshments etc.)
Contact database
o Maintaining the Contact database
o Adding any new details as requested
o Updating existing details as necessary
o Couriers/Deliveries/Post:
o Distributing all post to the studio as soon as it arrives (including/determining invoices once date stamped)
o Receiving deliveries
o Arranging all couriers both domestic and international
Assist the Office Manager with the following (as requested):
o Ordering inventory supplies – stationery, bathrooms and kitchen
o Maintaining Studio emergency and disaster recovery information
o Facilitating the Health and Safety administration
o Arranging monthly staff events
o Keeping the office clean and tidy at all times
o Coverage as needed
General
o Managing the Studio/Meeting Room e-mail account (daily)
o Assisting with any general ad hoc Studio duties as requested (supporting the PA/HR if requested)
o Liaising with all MBDS entities as needed (New York, MBDS Holdings, And Objects, Art Consultancy etc.)
o Sending regular reminders for WFH requests including monitoring no days are too saturated with requests
o Assist with monthly Amex reconciliation for some of the studio Associates
Requirements
o Proven experience as a Receptionist or in a similar role.
o Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
o Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook and experience with office equipment (e.g., printers, copiers).
o Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
o Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
o A positive attitude and a friendly demeanor.

MBDS are looking for a talented Midweight Designer to join our London studio.
The position will offer the opportunity to work with in the studio’s team of designers to support the Senior Designers on multiple high end projects. The Designers are members of the Design Studio Team (DST) alongside the Associates, Senior Designers and Junior Designers. This team will carry out the works associated with MBDS’ service offering.
The Designer will be supporting the Team and will work in tandem with the other Designers in the Studio. This person will be fully immersed at all levels of the design process on a daily basis via their allocated projects, taking ownership and responsibility of their own workload while using their initiative and creative skills to solve problems and meet deadlines. An excellent understanding of all areas of furniture, product, interior architecture and design is a must. Further, an understanding of construction technology is imperative as well as knowledge of current building regulations. Since the position includes communication with client representatives and other project team consultants, a high level of verbal and written communication skills are a must.
A high-level of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office is key. Additional computer programme skills would be an advantage, such as InDesign and Adobe Creative Suite. An engaging and diplomatic manner and clean and tidy appearance is expected.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design & Creative Management
o Support the development of the plans and elevations during the design concept development working with the Senior Designer and the Design Management Team (DMT).
o Understanding the client’s brief and senior staff’s vision for the project and implementing it into the concept design
o Support the development of the design concept working closely with the Senior Designer and the DMT. The task would include finding mood images for a particular design direction to establishing information about the specific site
o Support the efforts in establishing the materiality for projects. Suggesting appropriate materials and finishes, using the individuals experience / knowledge of different suppliers
o Review and suggest ironmongery and sanitary ware manufactures and their suitability for the project
o Support the efforts in maintaining MBDS’s Stylistic Design Standards
o Work closely with the Senior Designer and the Studio team in general on establishing libraries for mood images and materials
o Support presentation of ideas and concepts to the client and client representative.
o Communication with the DST on a daily basis
Design Project Management
o Understanding the project timelines and MBDS’s deliverables
o Support the Senior Designer with site visits and meetings with contractors, consultants and potentially clients
o Understand the contractual obligations between the designer, contractor and the client
o Represent MBDS to clients, contractors and suppliers
Design Documentation
o Taking responsibility for the production of all drawings for the project, including full construction, legal and planning drawing packages
o Assisting with the concept design and presentation by helping with image sourcing, 3D sketching and modelling, Photoshop editing and setting up/printing presentation boards and booklets
o Compiling and promptly issuing meeting minutes
o Understanding the projects Health & Safety procedures and ensuring the correct documentation is complete
Human Resources
o Mentoring junior members within the Team
o Supporting the general wellbeing of the team and its productivity
Studio Administration
o Communicate with AT (to include other members of the DMT and BMT if necessary) on any requirements related to the support tasks for the Studio (support tasks are noted as travel bookings, couriers, stationary, meeting scheduling, video conferencing organisation etc.)
o Provide holiday (or other) coverage for any other Designers
EXPERIENCE:
3-6 years of interior design experience and be experienced with running projects.
